I’m a journalist with dual UK-EU nationality based in London. I report on government policy and Brexit developments that have an impact on universities for Research Fortnight.
Some of the topics I follow include the outsourcing of aid spending from DFID, the European Medicine Agency’s relocation to Amsterdam, open access in academic publishing, the Open University, sexism in higher education, and UCL’s £483m campus expansion. In 2018 I won the Association of British Science Writers’ Best Newcomer Award.
In 2016-17 I covered EU policy developments for Research Europe, reporting from the UK as well as from Italy, Belgium, Estonia, Slovakia, Malta and Jordan. Before that I studied politics at the University of Cambridge.
